how many GBs is HEK?

llamajuice wrote a comment on March 18, 2009

lol no, 3ds max doesn’t come with the HEK. 3ds max is made by Autodesk, you can get a 30 day trial from their website.

yoyodude55 wrote a comment on March 20, 2009

ummmm can you tell me where to get 3ds max, I installed HEK but I sont think 3ds max came with it! WTF?

llamajuice wrote a comment on March 22, 2009

reinstall Halo Custom Edition, and then install the HEK? all the files are available at halomaps(dot)org

yoyodude55 wrote a comment on March 23, 2009

I have halo custom edition but it says that I dont have it installed when I go to put on HEK, is there anyway you can send me all the files it comes with, or upload them somewhere, or at least try to help?

Or… if you’re on Vista you might have to disable the UAC…. go to the control panel and search for UAC and disable it.

llamajuice wrote a comment on March 26, 2009

It’s in C:/program files/Microsoft Games/ Halo Custom Edition/

If you don’t see it there, then you didn’t install the Halo Editing Kit, or you managed to delete it, reinstalling the HEK should bring it back.

llamajuice wrote a comment on March 31, 2009

You can get a 30 day trial off of autodesk’s website. Or grab a student version from JourneyEd for about $200

rangepker781 wrote a comment on April 1, 2009

how to u even get 3ds max

llamajuice wrote a comment on April 2, 2009

For a commercial license, sure.

I doubt Aaron21217 is really intending on selling his Halo CE map…

You can get a student version off of JourneyEd for $200. (The exact same thing as the commercial version, but you can’t legally sell anything you make.)

HaloWarsFreak wrote a comment on April 3, 2009

or 9,000 somthing like that its expensive.

HaloWarsFreak wrote a comment on April 5, 2009

3ds max is 10,000

llamajuice wrote a comment on April 5, 2009

Yep. You’ll need a different exporter though.

I’m not sure what you’ll need… (never used gmax) but if you look around you’ll find it.

Aaron21217 wrote a comment on April 8, 2009

Im using Gmax instead of 3ds max. Is it still possible to create a halo ce map?
